This is me… on a cleanse

Well I’ve decided that along with my renewed zest for life that it is about time for another cleanse. I prefer to do a cleanse under the direction of my naturopathic doctor, but I realize there are others who are quite comfortable doing one on their own. I paid for one visit with my ND and she gave me advice on healthy eating and she tailor made my eating plan! Mine is more of a gentle cleanse so that I can still do my daily activities and don’t feel confined to my house. I also find it comforting knowing that I can always contact her if I need some advice or help while on my cleanse. As is normally the case I am also on a very clean eating routine which has minimal carbs, minimal dairy, and minimal fats. There is still protein involved but less protein from fatty source and more from healthy sources.

The last time I was on this cleanse I really felt that it helped my body balance out so I’m eager to have the wonderful feeling again. I figured I’d post while on this journey once in awhile to help keep myself on track…and if others are interested they can see what a gentle cleanse prescribed by a N.D. is like.

So far so good. I blew it on my second day though when I attended a birthday party! I don’t really regret it though–I had fun and got right back on track that evening in terms of eating. I can already see that my body is craving carbs and junk. It’s kind of scary how powerful the cravings are. It’s definitely a type of addiction. I realized that when I felt like if only I could have a few slices of bread or some “fishy crackers” then life would be good lol.

Well I’m drinking my probiotic tea (tastes like chamomile) mmmm and getting ready to figure out what to make for breakfast. I hope all of you have a wonderful day…and here’s to healthy eating!

  2. Aww thanks Claire :) The cleanse went well. Though reading a book about food really highlighted some interesting things for me (more to follow in a post). Thanks for saying hi :)
