Hello everyone! I apologize for my long absence from the blogging world. I’m still not convinced that my original vision for this blog fits anymore, as I’m less preoccupied with my food choices, and more interested in a more holistic approach to wellness. But, I’m loving my life more and more all of the time, and sometimes I still feel that I have info that others might want to read
In any case, I thought I’d share what I’m thinking about tonight just in case anyone might be interested.Vision boards. For those of you whom are not familiar with vision boards, here’s some info: What is a vision board? How do I make one?
I’ve made several vision boards, and have been amazed when I look back at the goals or dreams for my life that have actually come true.
I have always used bristol board and just cut pictures and words out of magazines. I was thinking that I’d like to update mine…and somehow the thought of keeping my huge bristol board version hanging in my closet is losing it’s appeal. I see it everyday; however, I’m trying to declutter my life, organize, and beautify my world, and somehow this big board doesn’t fit the same way it used to. Perhaps that just means I need to update it with new pictures etc. Or perhaps I need a new way to display it.
So I’m thinking of ideas. I found this video which explains how to make a portable vision board. You could take this with you wherever you go
Plus it really doesn’t cost anything to make. Niiiice.
It seems like there are a lot of software companies / online companies who promise to let you create and share your vision board online. I’m not going to recommend any of these as I’m not familiar with any of these programs. I can imagine applications that would be fantastic for such programs though! For example: I bet there’s a way to carry your vision board with you on your iPhone / hand-held device. There may even be an app for this already?! Here’s an example of a digital “Mind Movie.”
Another idea is Vision books. That seems like a good idea b/c you can add pages and it’s very portable. Maybe a “Vision binder” would be a good idea?!
However, the whole idea of a vision board is that you place it in an area where you see it all of the time / very often. In this way you end up taking in the words, affirmations (for more info on affirmations read about the amazing work of Louise Hay), images, and even emotions reflected by the vision board and attract them into your own life. Your goals become your reality.
Here’s a video of John Assaraf (from the movie The Secret) sharing how his vision board worked (and still works) in his life. You actually get to see a few of his vision boards too.
Happy visualizing
